How Unvios works
Premium tech marketplace in Portugal with escrow payments via Stripe — funds stay protected until you confirm everything is right.
What guarantee do I have?
Unvios is not a manufacturer warranty on the product. The guarantee we offer is payment protection: the item price does not go straight to the seller when you pay.
Your card is authorised through Stripe (a certified payments company). Funds are held by Unvios until you confirm receipt after hand delivery — or until a dispute is resolved if something goes wrong.
If the item is not as described, do not confirm receipt. Report a problem from your account. Escrow stays paused while our team reviews the case.
Buying — step by step
- 1.Browse listings from real sellers in Greater Lisbon.
- 2.Pay on Stripe Checkout (item + Trust Shield: €2.50 + 2% of the item price). Hand delivery in Greater Lisbon has no shipping fee today.
- 3.Payment is held in escrow — the seller does not receive the item amount yet.
- 4.Coordinate hand delivery with the seller in Greater Lisbon (safe public meetup).
- 5.The seller confirms handover in Account → Sales & Escrow — this starts your 48-hour inspection window.
- 6.Inspect and test the device within 48 hours after handover.
- 7.If everything is correct: confirm receipt in Account → Purchases & Escrow — payment is captured and the seller is paid (or payout is queued if they still need bank setup).
- 8.If not: use Report a problem before the inspection window ends — do not confirm receipt.
Selling — step by step
Stripe Connect (identity verification) is required by law before money can reach your bank — similar to Vinted when you withdraw. You can list and sell first; set up payouts when you are ready to receive funds.
Until the buyer confirms, the item funds are not finally yours — that protects both sides in a peer-to-peer sale.
- 1.Create an account and list with one or two photos: a clear product shot plus an optional specs screenshot (Settings › About) for Mac, iPhone, and iPad — AI fills title, specs, and price.
- 2.Confirm your photos show the actual item and publish. Your listing is live — buyers can purchase without you completing bank setup first.
- 3.When someone buys, coordinate hand delivery in Greater Lisbon.
- 4.After the meetup, confirm handover in Account → Sales & Escrow — only after the buyer has the item.
- 5.When the buyer confirms receipt (or after 48h with no dispute), your net item amount (minus ~8% platform commission) is transferred to your bank if you have completed Stripe Connect; otherwise complete bank setup in Account → Settings to receive pending payouts.
Fees (transparent)
- Buyer: Trust Shield (€2.50 + 2% of item price). Hand delivery in Greater Lisbon: €0 shipping at checkout today. CTT Express (€5.50) coming soon.
- Seller: ~8% commission on the item price, deducted when escrow is released.
- No listing fee in the current phase.
Risks and good practice
No marketplace removes all risk. Unvios reduces unprotected payment when you use checkout — escrow is a procedure, not a guarantee of every outcome. Launch cap: €2,000 per item.
- Buyer: do not confirm receipt before inspecting the device; meet in a safe public place; keep photos when unboxing if applicable.
- Seller: honest photos, proof of handover if asked, never ask for payment outside Unvios.
- Both: abusive disputes and chargebacks can lead to account suspension (see Terms).
Disputes and refunds
In Account → Purchases & Escrow, use Report a problem while the order is in escrow. The order moves to Disputed and release is paused.
Also email support@unvios.com with your order reference (e.g. UNV-…), photos, and details. Approved refunds are processed via Stripe (typically 5–10 business days to your bank).
